A non-medicated wound contact layer that binds bacteria and fungi with a simple physical principle — reducing bioburden with every dressing change.
Cutimed® Sorbact® Wound Contact Layer is used for colonized and infected wounds. Instead of chemically active agents, its impregnated acetate fabric binds and inactivates pathogenic bacteria and fungi, which are then removed when the dressing is changed — helping create good conditions for natural healing. This 4" x 4" size suits smaller and shallow wounds.
Key Benefits
- Broad microbe binding: Per the manufacturer, effective against common wound bacteria including MRSA and VRE.
- No development of resistance: Physical binding rather than chemical action means bacteria do not develop resistance to it.
- Reduces odor and pain: Helps make dressing changes more comfortable.
- Rapid action: Begins binding microbes on contact with the wound.
